Dietary Aide (Weekends Only)

The Dietary Aide is responsible of washing pots and pans, serving meals, stocking products, and overall kitchen duties as needed.

  1. Is responsible for the opening of the caf? and the service for breakfast including: the front of the house by making sure coffee is made, all condiments are filled, plates, cups, to go containers, sugar/artificial sweetener, creamers, etc..

  2. Prints all 3 meals of special diet labels and makes sure has all of the dietary request sheets from each unit.

  3. Answers phone with a polite and respectful manner

  4. Prepares unit carts based on guidelines and expectations.

  5. Places labels on to go containers by each unit. Each diet is placed on the cart according to what Unit the patient is on.

  6. Informs the utility person when carts are ready for the units.

  7. Prepares salads.

  8. Provides the cook with counts of special diets for the lunch and Adolescent orders.

  9. Prepares bags for the Green St. lunches.

  10. Makes sure there are enough condiments needed for lunch service and removes the plastic knives from the line and assists the PM diet aide as needed.

  11. In between lunch service, prepares the snack bags for all units.

  12. Removes all of the food from the steam table; cool any hot food, wrap, label and date any product being saved. Lets the cook know or asks what should be saved if you are unsure.

  13. PM Dietary aide delivers a case of milk and juice to each floor except S1 and N1, which is delivered by the morning dietary aide.

  14. Prepares the diet boxes with the labels and gives the pm cook the diet counts, types of diets, and Adolescent unit?s choice of meals.

  15. Is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the caf? tables and chairs once service is completed.

  16. Empties trash on a timely manner.

  17. Delivers snacks to each of the nursing units on each floor.

  18. Checks to see if there is a shortage or overage of condiments, paper goods, or snack items. If the unit has a shortage of overage of products writes a list, including Unit and items, gives it to the AM dietary aide. Checks milk and juice inventory. Checks a couple of code dates on product.

  19. Is responsible for the removal and cleaning of floor mats. All floor mats should be thoroughly cleaned in 3 bay sinks.

  20. Sweeps and mops the floor thoroughly in the kitchen and the serving area using the floor detergent (wash & walk) and hot water.

  21. Prepares for the supper meal.

  22. Makes sure the front is fully stocked.

  23. Is responsible for the cleaning of any sharp items such as the slicer, buffalo chopper, and other equipment which may be unsafe for other.

  24. Performs various other tasks as needed.

Job Requirements

  • ?High school diploma, G.E.D required or actively working towards

  • ?Two years experience in a health care institution preferred

  • ?Serve Safe Certificate 2. Good communication skills

  • ?Good communication skills

  • ?Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in the English language

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
