Psychology Technician

NOTE:
This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 09/30/2022). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4-year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment. Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Collect and summarize data from clinician participants in training. Track and respond to a large amount of electronic communication in a timely and cordial fashion. Share in the planning of research design and methodology. Perform computer data entry, statistical analyses and prepare reports of results. Maintain close attention to detail in managing data, records and communications. Identify and resolve file discrepancies and provide program progress summaries as appropriate. Use psychological principles and techniques to administer and interpret standardized measures and structured interviews. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

Not Required. BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - Applicants must first meet one of the basic requirements listed below:
Possess a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, which included or was supplemented by 12 semester hours in Psychology or related disciplines appropriate to this position? (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) OR Possess four (4) years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences, which included or was supplemented by 12 semester hours in Psychology equivalent to a major in the field? OR Possess a combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social science, which included or was supplemented by 12 semester hours in Psychology equivalent to a major in the field? (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS - In addition to meeting the above requirements, you must also meet one of the requirements listed below to qualify for this position. Experience:
Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
Performs one or more of a variety of technical tasks in a program of research or other professional services in psychology. Performance of these tasks requires a practical understanding of some of the general principles, theories, methods and techniques of psychology in order to carry out duties which are performed under the supervision of a professional psychologist. These duties may include one or more of the following:
(1) assist in research as in systematic collection of psychology research data, recording and collecting of data, preparing tabular or graphic presentation of data, in accordance with a predetermined research plan; (2) assist counseling psychologist in contacting potential employers for purpose of making vocational placement, providing follow-up consultation, administering and scoring of interest, achievement and aptitude tests, securing work history and other relevant vocational information; (3) assist neuropsychologist in administering and scoring of selected tests of a neuropsychology battery in accordance with clearly defined procedures; (4) assist psychologists in completing behavior rating scales or in conducting behavior modification. OR Substitution of Education:
Successfully completed one (1) full year of graduate education (or 18 semester hours) in Psychology at an accredited college or university that provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience, as described above, may be used to meet total qualification requirements for this grade level (GS-7)? (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) OR Superior Academic Achievement (Transcript Required):
(SSA) at the baccalaureate level in the coursework detailed above is fully qualifying. Applicants who wish to apply under this provision must submit proof from their educational institution that they meet one of the criteria listed below. To qualify for SAA, applicants must have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled and meet one of the following:
Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university or major subdivision. A grade-point average of B (a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. A grade point average of B+ (a GPA of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
