Candidates will have completed accredited training in orthopedics with additional fellowship training. Should have an outstanding clinical and academic track record and interested in the education of residents and fellows. Supervision of residents is a major duty of this position. Selection will be made based on experience, leadership and skills. The candidate selected will be eligible for appointment at the Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor at HMS or BU. Must be a US citizen, possess American Board Certification in orthopedics, hold a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the U.S., or District of Columbia. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Evaluation of physical, cognitive and emotional fitness of candidates for appointment in VA is required prior to appointment. Candidates must be capable of interactions with patients and health care personnel in a caring and professional manner. The candidate must be able to tolerate physically taxing workloads, to function effectively under stress, to adapt to changing environments, and to display flexibility. Reference:

Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
