Social Work Associate

The major duties include but are not limited to:
Schedules appointments for room and answers all consult room requests daily; Receives and orients guests to the facility; Tabulates Huntington House daily usage data and patient satisfaction survey data into monthly charts; Provides clinical assistance services to patients under the supervision of a fully licensed Social Worker but with considerable independence; Identifies needs and provides individualized assistance and services to specific needs of Veterans and their families; Works with cases that involve complex problems of serious need, and uses clinical skills to develop alternative solutions with the Veteran and/or family; Recommends plans to supervisor for suitable programs of supplementary assistance and service; Maintains a schedule of bed availability to maximize the bed utilization to include cancellations and re-books; Carries out major assignments in conducting the operation, and provides the procurement of supplies and equipment for the facility; Performs inspections and attends any walk through from outside inspections of the facility and takes necessary action to correct any issues found; Plans, initiates and tracks all safety drills (e.g. fire drills); Maintains the data for the program to include occupancy, referral sources and the responsible referring clinician for all three components; Utilizes responsibility to commit lodging on behalf of the organization; Formulates, affects, interprets and implements lodging policies and operating practice; Enforces house guidelines and takes action to resolve policy violations (e.g. alcohol abuse) and rescinds room privileges, if necessary; Coordinates information/events with the professional staff within the program and with those from referring services on administrative matters; Oversees compliance with budgetary management for the Huntington House and Social Work Service; Reviews office needs, plans, and sets goals to develop budget data and justification for review and approval; Reconciles monthly and assures that all expenditures are properly authorized and documented; Serves as a timekeeper for social work service; and Performs other related duties as assigned. ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. AND BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in major fields of study such as:
social welfare, sociology, psychology, public administration, philosophy, education, anthropology, history, economics and/or English. NOTE:

Experience:
Two years of experience as a social welfare worker or social work assistant in a voluntary, public, social, or health agency. One year of this experience must have been in a medical setting and equivalent to the next lower grade in Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
providing outreach services to homeless patients and individuals on the streets, in city shelters, and in other community locations; evaluating the individual's psychosocial situation and connecting them to appropriate resources within the community; and coordinating treatment programs, vocational support, and housing programs. NOTE:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
